Reminding God

(3:32 AM)

In today’s sermon, JO said that one of the most powerful ways to pray is to remind God of what He said in the scripture, because He is faithful to His word.  Not to remind Him of your complaints, but of His promises.  JO said to say to God “You said…”

… You would supply all of my needs according to Your riches, You are my provider

… You will be my vindicator, You will fight my battles, what was meant for my harm You will turn and use to my advantage

… You would restore health unto me and heal me of my wounds

…  the path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter

…  whatever I touch will succeed

…  You would pay me back double for the unfair things that have happened, my end would be better than my beginning, all things are going to work together for my good

…  the moment I pray the tide of the battle turns, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but You deliver me out of them all, You hold victory in store for the upright

JO says stay in faith and keep reminding Him every day, that the Bible says “keep not silent, give Him no rest ’til it comes to pass.”  That when you put God in remembrance of His promises, this allows Him to bring them to pass, so use shameless persistence, “present your case before God, make your arguments, bring forth your proof.”

This seems like badgering to me, but JO says that you need to not be passive, and to show God that you mean business, so… I’ll give it a shot.

Edit:  In the 20 hours since I published this post, it has gotten more hits than my blog usually gets in a MONTH;  the message here is clear.
